NO team survived the first day of the Netherlands Nines Series without a defeat as the sport got back underway in the European nation at the weekend.
Harderwijk Dolphins and Den Haag Knights finished Saturday with four-from-five records during the Dordrect tour stop; host side the Griffins were the only team of six not to register a victory.
The Knights’ only defeat came to their co-leaders the Dolphins, 18-8 in game four of the 15-match programme. The Dolphins’ perfect record was ruined by an tight 18-16 defeat to Zwolle.
Third on the table are Amsterdam with three wins and two losses, followed by Zwolle with two wins and three losses and then Rotterdam also with two wins and three losses.
The Netherlands Nines Series was previously postponed because of government Covid guidelines.
The competition is now being run on consecutive weekends, with the action shifting to Den Haag on July 10 and Zaandijk on July 17.
