NETHERLANDS Rugby League has delayed the kick-off of their summer Nines series because of Covid restrictions in the European nation.
Round one was to be held ad Dordrecht this Saturday but this has now been postponed a week.
“We will commence on the 3rd July in Dordrecht, followed by national champions Den Haag hosting on 10th July, with the final being held in the Amsterdam outskirts at Zaandijk on the 17th July,” Nederlandse Rugby League Bond said on their Facebook page.
“More details to follow, but we cannot wait to welcome back all of our clubs, players, match officials and supporters!”
Six teams will take part in the min-season: Den Haag Knights, Harderwijk Dolphins, Amsterdam Cobras, Mighty Griffins, Zwolle Wolves and Rotterdam Pitbulls.
Netherlands hosted last year’s only men’s rugby league international, against Germany.
More recently, the California Rugby League cancelled their proposed summer Nines season.
