SEVENTEEN teams have entered the Midlands Nines, to be staged at Broadstreet Rugby Club in Coventry on April 27.
The brainchild of the people behind the Rugby League Outsiders media platform, the Midlands Nines will feature men’s, women’s and social men’s divisions, a music festival and overnight camping at the venue.
The organisers report a strong response to their offer of £11 admission per player. There are a number of options for spectators, including for those who just want to catch the three tribute bands on offer.
Teams entered so far are:
MEN: Teignbridge – Devon, Sherwood Wolf Hunt, Telford Raiders, Loughborough University, Scotland Under 19s, Leamington Royals, Oxford Cavaliers.
WOMEN: Leamington Royals, Loughborough Universit,y RAF Rugby League, Midlands Hurricanes, Staffordshire Quantums.
MEN’S SOCIAL: NEW Ravens, Staffordshire Quantums, Worcester Rebels, Loughborough 2s, Sherwood Wolf Hunt.
BANDS: 18:00 – Stiffmeisters (Green Day, Blink 182 etc) 19:30 – Alexander Norris – Coventry Based 21:00 – Mardy Bums (Arctic Monkeys tribute).
