THE focus of most people in British rugby league will be on Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London this Saturday – but a group of Welshmen will be rushing to get their showers over in time for kick-off in the Challenge Cup final.

The South Wales Community Nines at Banwen Rugby Club in Neath – involving four men’s teams – start at 10am and are due to conclude at 2pm, an hour before the start on TV.

The clubs involved will be: Aber Valley Wolves, Rhondda Outlaws, Aberavon Fighting Irish and Black Dragons.

Also on Saturday, the annual British Columbia Nines take flight for 2022. We’ll have more information about that competition in the coming days.
